Good morning Cherating and good day for all!!

It seems as if we are going towards the end of Monsoon here in Malaysia. It was not a bad season at all. Late November and December were really consistent, with lots of swell….and also the Quiksilver Batu Buruk Surf competition in Kuala Terengganu and afterwards the Billabong Cherating Competition were successful. At the moment it’s flat in Cherating.
Four weeks we were away from Cherating, travelling to Thailand and spending some time in KL and it’s enough now. Good to be back here again and enjoying the laid back Cherating. Nice to have our normal Cherating breakfast at Matahari Guest house…..Sheila’s Place….with good fresh coffee beans…..sedaaaap!!!

In these few day’s was good fishing at Cherating river.Went out few days a go and had few fish….we might go out to the sea fishing also in these few days…..

A medium size Barramundi at cherating river…1.8kg and 1.4kg

For those who e-mail and call regarding the swell at the moment in Cherating….its still flat and calm.But any way there lots of stuff still can do around cherating…watching the firefly at the evening,Cruising the river….enven can go the waterfall…Chemerong water fall. about 1.5 hrs driving from cherating…..

it look like there slide small swell roll-in next monday…hope fully we can have the swell as the last surf for these year….who knows if we lucky enuff.For those who looking for the last surf in the season stay tune for more update.cheers..

Chinese New year Surfing lesson 23rd January 2012

Hi again, it has been flat since one week. That’s the longest waiting period in this season so far. The Chinese New Year celebration brought lots of visitors to Cherating, Pahang Malaysia. Lucky there has been small waves, so the conditions were good for giving some surf lessons and for all the beginners that never tried surfing before. We had 8 persons from Singapore that took our Surf lessons on Monday. It was a really sunny and hot day and fun waves out there. Every one had a good time and enjoyed the session. • 3 surf lessons (individual or group)
• All equipment hire for each lesson, plus 3 hours practice
• Accommodation (standard fan guesthouse) for 2 nights

Lessons

All lessons run for 1.5hrs and include equipment hire, plus use of board for 1 hour additional practice

Prawn fishing at Cherating river part 1

16th-20th January.

Its been flat since the last monday.Flat as a lake….! There’s been no surf since then.We park our boat near by Chendor beach, and it is time to bring back the boat back to Cherating.Was supper sunny week and its time for prawn fishing.

We had to fix the motor to the boat.Was kept at Somad place near by Chendor village.

Was a fun day out.I had a lesson with 6 student from Kuala Lumpur and they having fun during the session.Grab some shot for them “their first ride or first wave” and everybody can stand and ride some small sets….was good and fun for them.At the same time Mike Lim from singapore had his session too…..was fun looking at him riding some good sets of the day…..waist to shoulder height…..peeling nicely from the top……for more sets visit http://www.flickr.com/photos/scaryreef/

2012 New year group lesson

It has been a good swell from Christmas til the New Year’s weekend. On new year we had fun with 6 guys from Kuala Lumpur who booked 3 surf lessons with cheratingpoint over the weekend. All of them were enjoying their time and had their first successful moments on the board. The conditions were pretty good for beginners during these days, so that helped also a lot to make it a special and unforgettable experience for them. Beside that we had a really good gathering in the evening with them and started into the new year together…

So if you’re interested in learning to surf, please don’t hesitate to contact us for surf lessons and board rental. We offer weekend packages including 2 nights accommodation, 3 surf lessons and board rental from 399 RM per person ( for groups: 3 pax and above ) and 499 RM per person ( 1 or 2 pax ).
