It’s been a while since our last update. Apologies for that, but it’s been some busy weeks for us. The new swell which came in after Christmas was really constant and lasted throughout the New Year. We had lots of students, lessons and board rentals during this period. We are trying our best in what we are doing, and thank’s to all our customers who are coming back again and again and the newcomers of course as well.
By now half of the monsoon season has passed by already and the rest of January will be over soon as well. Without noticing the time is moving on so quick. Nevertheless there will be still a few more swells to go before the surf season 2017/18 gonna come to an end. So don’t forget to sign up with us here at Cheratingpoint surf school.
This year it is our 10 years anniversary since we founded Cheratingpoint those days. And we are really grateful for what we are today! Who would have expected that when we started some surfboard rental, with just 4 boards by the way, back in 2008. All these years we went through so far, have been really good and we met a lot of interesting, funny, kind and determined people who came to us to become part of the malaysian surf experience. We love our line and also in the future we will just concentrate on what we’re good at: surf packages, surf lessons and surf photography. People come to us from all over the world to learn surfing in Cherating – thank you for that guys. It’s really amazing! So come and join us, as the monsoon not gonna last long anymore! Just drop us an email or give us a quick call, we’re here to serve you accordingly to your needs.
Have a great week & see you guys sooner or later around!
The monsoon season has already come to an end and as we all know good times never last long……Cheratingpoint surf school is officially closed for the season 2016/2017 since the first week of March. It was a really good season for us and we hope our customers can say that as well about their surf experience with Cheratingpoint. The most consistent wave period was during December and January. Thank you again to all our customers and surf students for signing up with us. We tried to make the best out of your surf lessons even during hard weather conditions and some had the right timing to enjoy grilling sessions with the locals as well. This is the trademark of Cherating, mostly everything happens spontaneously and the best sessions and parties are never planned in advance.
At the moment we still receive a lot of emails and phone calls from people who wanna learn to surf. Too bad guys, but March-October is the off season for surfing in Malaysia. Please try to come during November – March. We will start to take bookings from August onwards. Would be great to have you guys with us all year round but mother nature is only offering us waves during monsoon season which lasts from “NOVEMBER-MARCH IN MALAYSIA”.
For the travellers who are visiting Cherating during the summer season (April-October), enjoy your time here and if you are keen on riding some waves one day please come back during monsoon. We are looking forward to have all of you guys here, our longterm customers and new faces to the scene as well. Meanwhile take it easy and have a good time whatever you do. Take care and see you around when the surf’s up again.

For this season Christmas, New year’s and Chinese New Year have passed by. And it’s already February by now! Time flies and we had a great time. Nevertheless at the moment we are in between swells again. This coming weekend 11-12th February 2017 the forecast looks like as if there’s going to be a good swell arriving. For sure plenty of surf action you can get at Cherating neither for the beginners or anyone that knows how to surf.
Last week was Chinese New Year and Cheratingpoint surf school/Matahari guest house had been really busy for about 10 days in a row. Lots of students, plenty of guests who were having fun during that festive week and the swell was lasting for quite some time. We had lots of good surf sessions during the morning and lessons were running classes for the whole 10 days. Lots of fun surf, Party and as well grilling season. Kampung Cherating Lama has been really busy during these days.
So before monsoon’s and the surf season’s gonna end, better make up your mind if you want to come over for a short weekend getaway to experience the kampung and surf life here. One single wave can offer you a ride up to 300 meters and it will be a memory you won’t forget for sure!

It’s already Thursday middle of the week and the next weekend is already around the corner again! The entire New Year weekend was busy again for us here at Cheratingpoint surf school. We had students from KL, expats from France, Singaporeans, a Korean family with their kids, a Japanese family and some longterm customers. The swell lasted all over the festive season of Christmas and New Year and so everybody, our instructors as well as the students, were happy and satisfied. The monsoon rain didn’t show up again during these days and so we had sunny hot days on the beach. Unique raining season where you really have to take care of any sunburns! Since last Monday the swell took a break and also the local surfers and our instructors had a chill out week. But as it looks like we will be blessed with the next waves by tomorrow! So please come over and join us for your personal surfing experience…
Have a safe journey for whom heading here and see you at the Line-up!
