Are you ready for the monsoon season 2023/24? Because we are!

 

After the calm and quiet off-season we jumped right into monsoon with some small swells and many new students at the beginning of November. We started the season officially at the 6th of November 2023 and CheratingPoint surf school welcomed a bunch of motivated and fresh newbies. The last Dvali weekend was full of perfect beginner waves . For the next week we will expect another swell brining perfect conditions to surf at the east coast of Malaysia We are stoked for the monsoon season 2023/24 and cannot wait for more swells hitting the coast of Cherating.

CheratingPoint is the oldest and biggest surf school in Malaysia and has been established in 2008. We connect our professional attitude with lots of fun and we will make sure that you will never forget your first surf experience. Our instructors are all well trained, local surfers which convey village and beach vibes with their knowledge about surfing. It is our pleasure to create a memorable experience for you and get you a closer look at a surfer’s life and attitude – , surf, sleep, surf !

Morning to all,

2 weeks of January 2017have passed already. Time flies pretty fast. The previous swell was over Christmas and was really good. It lasted till tuesday 10th January 2017. All our students had fun during this time and everyone had a great time with us. Thank’s again to our local Cheratingpoint instructors who are sharing their time and experience with the students.

At the moment we are waiting for the new swell to come in and it looks like as if it will pick up by tomorrow (Tuesday). It will be consistent throughout the week and will have its peak on the weekend. Again we are really stoked to have all our students  with us for the last few weeks. Thank’s for coming over everyone!

Those who are planning to book their Chinese new year sessions, please do so asap as it will be a busy time and most of the rooms will be full. “Our Standard timing on a day with swell/wave’s will be morning at 9.00am and Afternoon at 2.30pm” the schedule can be shifted accordingly to swell size and tides.Our instructor are punctual,Reliable and  cheerfull most of the time.

Good Morning to all,

It’s 6.30 a.m. in the morning, cold and it’s raining outside. The waves have been really good for the past few days. It started on the Christmas weekend and lasted all the way till New Year. Every each of our students had plenty of fun and the waves were catering from beginner to advanced surfer level as well. It’s peak time of the monsoon season now. Since Christmas day we had non stop surf lessons going on until now. Everyday new students – we love to share our experience with you. Wanna learn to surf in Malaysia you know where to go. We are always here waiting for you during the monsoon season.

Today’s Saturday 31st December 2016, the last day of the year: This weekend looks like it’s gonna be the peak of the swell. Normally today supposed to be the kick-off of Cheratingpoint Cup 2016 surf competition but we are postponing the event to next year. Wave/swell hight should be increasing by today and gonna last all the way through the new year. For all the students/customers that are coming this weekend please drive safely and looking forward to have you guys here. As for those having sessions this morning ….see you guys in a bit. There will be lots of fun waves and wishing every one a “Happy new year ” bye, bye 2016 and hello 2017……good health and good wealth to everyone!

Surf lesson session, weekend 3-4th December 2016 at CheratingPoint Surf School

Good morning to all,

It’s still the beginning of monsoon season and the swell is picking up really slowly. That’s kind of good to have slow waves for the students, a small swell is really ideal to learn surfing as the current won’t be that strong as usual. Recommended for the ones that never surfed before in their lives and we are willed to share the experience with you.

Looks like as if the “Cherating International Surf competition 2016” will be kicking off this friday on 9th December 2016 and we are wishing good luck to all the participants. For those who are free, please come over and have a look. We will be operating as usual.

Current update: We are waiting for the swell to pick-up but for surf lessons it’s still good to go. To all the students that have booked their surf packages/surf lessons with us – have a safe journey to get here and looking forward to have you guys with us.

Here are some shots from the last 2 weekends (26-27th November and 3-4th December 2016 lessons). Hope you guys were enjoying with us and we are hoping to see you again. Most of the shots were taken while they were riding  their first south china sea waves…..and at the end of the day when our students are leaving…..there’s a big smile in everyones face who joined Cheratingpoint surf school for their first wave experiences.

Our last surf lesson session for the season 2015/2016 5-6th March 2016.

Hi guys,

In the month of March can be actually the last swell for the season. What ever comes after 15th March is just a Big Bonus that will mark “the” end of monsoon season. No one can tell when is the official monsoon end, but from the experience of surfing here in Cherating since end of 90’s, early March is normally the time to say good bye to monsoon. Good times never last long and where’s a beginning there will be always an end as well!! Anyway that was our last surf session with our Surf Package students, some teachers from Terrenganu. This time once again we had the pleasure to make our customers happy by having fun to the max with the waves. They will come back to Cherating again…once the new season is starting.

It’s again Saturday.Well was a kind of relax week here in Cherating.The previous swell last long and was fun.The 9-10 weekend was kind of beginner day’s and all the student were happy at the end of the days.At the moment we are in between swell and this weekend seem look like as well wave’s just for the beginner.looking from the forecast new swell will roll in in between wed/thursday the following week.Look like solid ground swell will be in the next few days. “Monsoon season will not last long any more.” and Not to late to enrol with us at cheratingpoint surf school.Where our surf instructor will make sure you heading home with a big smile on your face!! The swell has been pumping for 2 weeks since late january till mid february 2015. We were really busy with our students throughout this few weeks. As the monsoon  not gonna last long anymore we are trying to make the best out of it. We had 1 surf lesson session at Mazlam’s Beach Bar Cherating for a change of venue as well. By the way sorry for the late update as the internet line in cherating is super slow at the moment.

Now we are waiting for the next swell and also Chinese New Year is around the corner – 19th Febuary 2015. For those who have made their bookings already, we are looking forward to have you guys here. For the others just to update you for this festive season, most of the rooms in Cherating area will be fully booked!!!
