Open for season 2023/2024

Are you ready for the monsoon season 2023/24? Because we are!

 

After the calm and quiet off-season we jumped right into monsoon with some small swells and many new students at the beginning of November. We started the season officially at the 6th of November 2023 and CheratingPoint surf school welcomed a bunch of motivated and fresh newbies. The last Dvali weekend was full of perfect beginner waves . For the next week we will expect another swell brining perfect conditions to surf at the east coast of Malaysia We are stoked for the monsoon season 2023/24 and cannot wait for more swells hitting the coast of Cherating.

CheratingPoint is the oldest and biggest surf school in Malaysia and has been established in 2008. We connect our professional attitude with lots of fun and we will make sure that you will never forget your first surf experience. Our instructors are all well trained, local surfers which convey village and beach vibes with their knowledge about surfing. It is our pleasure to create a memorable experience for you and get you a closer look at a surfer’s life and attitude – , surf, sleep, surf !

Hi everyone,

We were pleased with some pleasant waves for beginners since last Thursday and it’s still lasting. All students had a great time and could build up some confidence in the water and with the waves. For us small swells are the best to teach and forward some knowledge to our guests.

Once you have completed the basic knowledge about surfing incl. awareness in the water, rules while riding or trying to take a wave, looking at the current and the right spot to be, pop up on the board and positioning yourself correctly on it etc. Then you’re ready to practise on your own. And the rest is up to you…what you might achieve or not!

We’re simply here to guide you on your path and be happy to share our knowledge with you!

Morning all,

January has passed by so fast that the New Year’s & Christmas celebrations feel already quite far away. Anyway, all the students this month had really good conditions waiting for them once they arrived here for their little surf getaway.

All our guests from overseas, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore were able to achieve some decent first rides and of course don’t forget the fun factor and laughter at the same time.

But nevertheless every season comes to an end and so we have 1 more month to go before we gonna close the monsoon chapter of 2019/20. So for those who are still keen to give it a try, hurry up and book your slot with us!

Our closing weekend will be 29th February-1st March 2020! So either see you around til then or the latest next season – from November 2020 onwards we will be back…

Good Morning to all,

It’s 6.30 a.m. in the morning, cold and it’s raining outside. The waves have been really good for the past few days. It started on the Christmas weekend and lasted all the way till New Year. Every each of our students had plenty of fun and the waves were catering from beginner to advanced surfer level as well. It’s peak time of the monsoon season now. Since Christmas day we had non stop surf lessons going on until now. Everyday new students – we love to share our experience with you. Wanna learn to surf in Malaysia you know where to go. We are always here waiting for you during the monsoon season.

Today’s Saturday 31st December 2016, the last day of the year: This weekend looks like it’s gonna be the peak of the swell. Normally today supposed to be the kick-off of Cheratingpoint Cup 2016 surf competition but we are postponing the event to next year. Wave/swell hight should be increasing by today and gonna last all the way through the new year. For all the students/customers that are coming this weekend please drive safely and looking forward to have you guys here. As for those having sessions this morning ….see you guys in a bit. There will be lots of fun waves and wishing every one a “Happy new year ” bye, bye 2016 and hello 2017……good health and good wealth to everyone!

Good morning all,

The Monsoon season 2016/2017 has officially started a few weeks ago. Small swells are already hitting the coast of Malaysia, what is normal for the early season. Whereby there will be lots of small waves, what is really good for beginners that have never surfed before. Cheratingpoint surf school officially opened back on 12th November 2016 and on that weekend we were blessed with a few days of fun surf sessions with our students. November is going towards the end and at the moment we are still waiting for the first proper ground swell. Looks like this coming Monday the new swell is coming in and we are ready to take your bookings. We’re hoping to be blessed again with lots of good swells and good times this monsoon season.

Cheratingpoint has been established in 2008, the oldest surf school in Cherating and by now as well the biggest one in Malaysia. Our instructors are well trained and willed to share their own surfing knowledge with you. We make an adventure out of your first surfing experience and while being professional at the same time we don’t miss out on the fun part. Even after your lesson you can hang out with us and get the village vibes! Sharing is caring and if we can make you smile at the end of the day our job is done. You will be taking back home a sweet memory of this place and this is all what we are aiming for! So please come over and check it out by yourself!

The last weekend was really good for all the beginners. With no current and chest to waist height during the sets was really fun! 1st February 2014 – Day 2 Chinese new year

Chinese new year part 2.

Later on the weekend more and more people came over to Cherating but the swell dropped little bit. Nevertheless it was still surf able and good enough for all the beginners. It was super fun with them and nice to watch them while they were taking the first wave in their life. For those who are having  a surf package with Cheratingpoint we will make sure that our students come back with a smile on their face and at the same time we provide one free memory photo of their first wave. We also offer high resolution photos of your surfing session upon request. 31st January 2014 Chinese new year surf lesson session

Hi again,

First of all we wanna wish everyone a happy Chinese New Year. It’s the year of the horse – just “keep it going”! Was a great and long weekend. On Friday, at last the swell came in – just shoulder height and it was a good session in the morning with our first group.  The second session we had with 2 families from France and one family from Kuantan. No wind in the morning and it lasted from mid to low tide. In the afternoon the wind started to kick in. Anyway, everyone was having fun and enjoying themselves. Thank’s to all of them for coming over & hope to see you again soon!More post up-date soon.

17/18th January 2014 surf lesson session

Hi Again all,

The last weekend was so good.Lucky we had our lesson on friday evening and on saturday.Sunday surf session was really super good where most of the surfer left Cherating and on sunday evening was empty again.Morning session was over head on set’s and the late afternoon session was super hollow,clean with a bit of off shore wind.here some shots from friday/saturday out surf lesson session.This week will be also good as on tuesday,wednesday the swell will be pickup again.Chinese new year is around the corner as for those wanna do the booking please booked now as the room can be full on that time.for more information please write to us or call us here at Cheratingpoint.
